Milestone Celebrations
Birthdays, anniversaries,
retirementsMilestone Celebration Venue — Virginia Beach Oceanfront
For the size of occasion that is too big for a restaurant table and too important for a back yard — a private room, a seated dinner, and a toast everyone can hear.
The Room
The ones worth booking a room for
There is a size of birthday that is too big for a restaurant table and too important for somebody’s back yard. A sixtieth. A fortieth anniversary. The retirement of someone who has worked in the same place for thirty years. Arboretum is a room for that middle size.
You get the whole space to yourselves — no other party at the next table, and no closing time announced by a server halfway through the speeches. A seated dinner, a toast that lands, and a floor you can clear afterwards if the music starts.
How the room is set
- Dinner
- One long table or several rounds, family-style or plated, catered from the Italian kitchen four doors down.
- The toast
- Clear sightlines and a room quiet enough that a speech does not need a microphone to carry.
- After
- Dimmable evening light and a floor you can clear for dancing, if that is the kind of birthday it is.
Food & Drink
Dinner, catered
from next door
Arboretum shares Laskin Road with two restaurants under the same roof of hospitality. Book the room and you can bring their kitchens with it — one point of contact, menus built for your headcount, and food that arrives hot from a few doors down. Working with an outside caterer instead is welcome too; we’ll share the prep space and house rules on your tour.
Pacifica
Tapas & Cocktails — 328 Laskin RoadHot and cold tapas, grazing boards, and a thoughtful bar.
Right for a party where people are meant to move around and refill.
Sorella’s
An Italian Eatery — 356 Laskin RoadFresh pasta and family-style plates for a table with three generations at it.
The obvious choice for a seated milestone dinner.
Questions
Before you
send the inquiry
Is the room private?
Yes. You have the whole room for your event. It is not a partitioned section of a restaurant with other tables on the other side of a screen.
Can we bring a cake?
Yes. Bring your own baker, or ask on your tour and we will point you at one.
Can we have music or dancing?
The floor clears for it. Bring a DJ, or a playlist and a speaker, and we will talk through where it goes when you walk the room.
Do you host retirement parties and anniversaries?
Yes. Retirements, anniversaries, engagement dinners and milestone birthdays all suit the room, and it is set up much the same way for each — a seated dinner, space for a toast, and a floor you can clear afterwards.
Where do guests park?
A public parking garage on 32nd Street sits directly behind the building.
How many guests does the room hold?
It depends how the room is set. Send your headcount with your inquiry and we will confirm the layout works, then walk the exact capacity on your tour.
